Meeting report for 15th May - Technology

Hi Everyone,

And another two more people coming along to see what Toastmasters is all about - Cheri and Charlotte both did short Icebreaker speeches and made a really good effort at first time speakers. Well done both of you.

Sasha in her first try at being Toastmaster for the night led a tightly controlled meeting with theme of technology as we know it and the 'magic of browsers'. Fabulous first effort Sasha.

The First Speaker of the night was myself, so we don't want to hear anymore about her or her speech Stop Horsing Around. Once what quite enough.

The 2nd Speaker Gail with her alliterative title took a personal moment from her own experience to share' The Daunting Dating Dilemma' with us and had us all in stitches. ":What to wear" on an Internet blind date was her first dilemma and she quickly discarded wearing her pyjamas as so many teenagers feel free to wear outside the house nowadays. Her first blind date didn't turn up, the second was a bus driver on the late shift and the third a drummer in a band but he smelled.

Gail told us she felt 'scarred by the process' and was so pleased to find Mr Right the usual way - being introduced to him by her date-to-be's grandfather. Way to go Gail.

Richard updated us on EasySpeak with a short PowerPoint display . His objective was to get us all logging on to EasySpeak  EARLY every week to indicate 2 things:

  1. Are you coming to the next meeting? (click Yes, No, or Maybe) and

  2. Do you accept the Role you have been scheduled to take at the next meeting - (click Yes or No)

Well done everybody. Great meeting and the popcorn at half time was a great choice.

Julie
