Hi Leaders,
Great to see Kian back again. Kian is a Competent Communicator already. He'll be away for 2 months from 19th May, but he's keen to join in July. His wife is having a baby.
Gail was our very genial Toastmaster, as usual and she introduced 2 speakers.
We had Mark S giving his Icebreaker called "Change of Seasons". This was a real treat and we know that Mark is a very positive person. Well done, Mark.
Will gave us a moving "Heros" speech about the mine collapse in Chile in 2010. He told us about the leader of the trapped miners and what made him a good leader. This was very moving. Thanks, Will.
Then Richard S showed us around Easy-Speak. Everyone at the meeting was happy to try it and said they would be willing to use the website for scheduling. This is really positive since all the work to set up meetings and track member progress is automated, saving time. It means another couple of things:
-
We all need to take more responsibility to respond to Easy-Speak emails.
-
The Toastmaster will no longer need to bring the agenda - Richard S will do that.
-
We'll all be flexible as we try out the Easy-Speak features. Feedback is welcome so that Richard can get the best process in place.
Hence, we all decided that Easy-Speak is the way we'll do things from now on.
I don't need to tell you about the next meeting, because you can see it all on Easy-Speak! (Look for the "Meeting on 08 May" on the left hand side.)
The Toastmaster is Elena, but Richard S will be sending emails from Easy-Speak for you to confirm roles.
We are also having our Annual General Meeting.
See you then.
Cheers,
Leigh
