Sgt@Arms: Michael
Toastmaster: Glenn did a fabulous job moving the meeting along on time and introducing speakers.
Bard: Judy with her own philosophical poem "Sea grave of deceit" had us on the edge of our seats. Fabulous poem Judy.
1st speaker: Tracey with her Icebreaker "The Risky Journey of Life" - the key events that "shaped her now and in future" and "finally killed my planning mojo". A fascinating speech and a a riveting first effort. Well done Tracey
2nd speaker: Gail with "Kiwi on the rail" was a PR exercise by Gail, posing as the CEO of Kiwirail after a Westcoast washout disaster. The first part of her speech was directed to her maintence staff who would be sent to fix the rail. The second half was a press conference where she anounced the problem and fielded questions from the media. A tricky speech and Q&A session for any CEO and Gail handled the problem like a professional. Excellent job Gail.
3rd speaker: Sherini with "That's not my stuff" concerning the difference in moods between you and your staff. What you can do to control how you feel in emotional responses to others, family, friends and workmates". Sherini's role-play rang a bell with most of us especially the words "Oh for goodness sake. Move over I'll do it myself". Although amusing in parts, a very sobering speech that reminded us of our own emotional reactions to very small unimportant situations. Fabulous speech Sherini.
Tabletopicsmaster: Elmer had an interesting series of topics for his team of ad-lib speakers:
-Larry What will I be in 40 yrs time
-Nick- If I had immunity from failure what would I do
-Marlese - My passion - tramping
-Hadassah - 3 things I would like others to remember me for
26th may 1,000th meeting night next week.
