Theme Mo-vember
Word of the Day Sophistication
Welcome Guest  Jack
Toastmaster  Graeme introduced the theme for the night (Movember) in support
of men's cancer awareness, particularly prostate cancer. He invited all speakers
to choose a fake mustache to wear when giving their speech and a lot
of hilarity ensued with mo's falling off mid-speech or tipping sideways.
All good fun even if a serious topic.

1st speaker Ryan Jay with "Las Islas Filipinas" ( a short story about the Phillipines)
claimed that explorer Ferdinand Magellan "was bludgeoned to death  by my ancestors"
when he landed in the Phillipines whilst looking for the Spice Islands. Bad luck Ferdie.
Ryan Jay gave us all sorts of interesting stats about the Phillipines and claimed to
have sung under girls' windows whilst wearing his $300 shirt made of pineapple fibre.
Great speech Ryan Jay and great shirt. Well done.
2nd speaker  Shailesh with"Formation of Banks Peninsula" told us that BP was
" a small flat island" until Akaroa erupted with a volcano 8m years ago and other
similar eruptions occurred  over the next 2m years in Lyttelton and Diamond
Harbour. A frighteningly informative but very interesting speech Shailesh.
3rd speaker Richard with his Educational "Just Right" showed us how
a Toastmaster's Club should be "balanced between being professional
an at the same time having fun". Great Educational Richard.

TTMaster  Mark E showed his customary sophistication with his selection
of "Emotion"al topics:
Leigh was "outraged" with Christchurch drivers
Jo was "euphoric" about her dog or rather lack of a dog
Jack (guest) told us what "makes him happy".
Well done tabletopics speakers.
Timer Win McKay did a great first time job of being Timer for the night.
Well done Win.
