Word of the Day Compassion Theme Unforgetable Mentors

Sgt@Arms Graeme talked about mentors when he was in the Army and that  they used the method of "impact counselling" in need - a description unknown to his audience until he used a gesture to indicate this type of counselling was a "clip round the ear" which had his audience in stitches. Graeme is a master comedian.

Bard  Kerry  gave us a great short story about filling a jar with golfballs, pebbles, sand and liquid. A great speech for a wedding breakfast. Thank you Kerry.

1st speaker  Gail with an Educational - The 3 categories of Body Language" amongst other useful things, reminded us that a'stationery' speaker is more likely to  lose  the audience than one who uses body language to help tell a story. Gail had her audience on their feet practising smiley/angry faces.  Well done Gail

2nd Speaker Sasha told us the gripping story of the effort it took for her to achieve 1st class Honurs degree in computer engineering. She advises "keep going even when it it hard" and "don't give up easily". A really interesting speech Sasha and a very enjoyable one.

3rd Speaker Aman with " Social Style Model: The Four Social Styles" talked about "Driver types" who say "just do it"; Expressive types who say " let's all do it"; Analytical types whoo say "do it right or don't do it at all; and Amiable types who say "we';ve got great people". A speech full of useful information for maanagers and co-workers. Great speech Aman. Well done
