Invocator (for meetings with no pledge of allegience)

Many Toastmaster Clubs have an Inspiration at the start of the meeting to inspire the group and open their minds to new ideas and purge out the negativity of the day so far. At the Good News Toastmasters Club, we use this time to reflect on our mission as a Christian club and inspire our members with time for a short thought and a tribute to the Lord. We thus name this time, Invocation.

The invocation is near the beginning of the meeting and is to be 1 minute long. This is not a sermon or speech. Some possible ways you can help us reflect on our mission as a club is by:

 -reading a an inspirational scripture, quote, poem or song
 -sharing something you’ve learned this week or at toastmasters
 -praying a short prayer

Remember that after the invocation, instead of applause, the club will have a moment for quiet reflection as you take your seat.
